San Antonio saw some great performances out of our Paragon Athletes this Sunday. Sarah Rasco won her age group at the Alamo 13.1. Diana Ruderman won 3rd place overall female in the 10k. Ildar Mannapov, Justin Nix, Mark Saroni, and Valerie Lozano also raced the half marathon. Saroni placed 3rd in his age group, Nix came in 8th in his age group, Lozano placed 6th in her age group, and Mannapov came in at 22nd. It was a hot and muggy morning for the runners.
Out racing on the bike was Anna Kurz. Kurz competed in the Women's 40+ Cat 3/4/5 at La Primavera Lago Vista Road Race. She placed 6th in another large field.
Saturday was a good training day for many Paragon and UTSA athletes. They met at the break of dawn for a long ride out toward Castroville. It was a record-setting day. And by records, I mean the number of flat tires. Five. One after another riders were stopped alongside the road. Tools and tubes were exchanged back and forth, athletes helping each other. That's what team building is about!
