Meet Iram Lee. Iram has been swimming, biking, and running with Paragon Training for about three years. He has a quiet presence, consistently attending training sessions and getting the hard work done without complaint.
Age: 34
Grade/Occupation: Computer Engineering Grad student and Graduate Research Assistant at UTSA. I previously worked as a Quality Engineer and as a Product Engineer for manufacturing companies.
How long have you been doing triathlons? I've been running for about 9 years. I added in swimming, cycling, and triathlon about 3 years ago.
Why do you like triathlons? There are a few reasons, but I guess the main one is that I think it's a very humbling sport, in the sense that when you're out there in a race or a hard workout, ultimately it's only you putting the effort. If you do badly, no one is to blame but you. And, at the end of the day, you only get out what you put in during training. It also helps clearing the mind.
Favorite post-workout or race meal: I like to have a bowl of plain greek yogurt mixed with raw honey and any fruit I have, like strawberries or blueberries.
Tell us something no one knows about you: When I was a teenager, I used to listen to black metal music. Though I never understood what they were saying when they sang!
Make sure to send your pictures from training and racing to: racing@paragontraining.org so we can showcase all the rad stuff you guys do.
