Three Paragon Training athletes headed to the Peach State this past weekend for a memorable morning of swim-bike-run. Ironman 70.3 Augusta is one of those races US triathletes should put on their schedule, especially if you need a boost of swimming self-confidence and a new swim leg PR! Nothing beats a downstream swim. The rest of the course is a beautiful roll through the Georgia countryside and a 2-loop run through the town of Augusta. Unofficial results put Carlos Miranda at a finishing time of 5:12:38, Raul Correa at 5:19:47, and Diana Ruderman at 5:15:52. Congratulations to each of you for another Ironman 70.3 in the books!
Also racing this weekend were Andrew Joy and Mark Saroni. Their race included a lot of turns, mud, barriers, and sky-high heart rates. 'Tis the season for cyclocross. Saroni raced Best Cross on Saturday and was joined by Joy on Sunday. In Saturday's race, Saroni placed 7th in the Men's Cat 3/4. Unsatisfied, Saroni raced again on Sunday, this time placing 2nd in the Cat 3/4. Best Cross opened the local cyclocross season at Lady Bird Johnson park. Saroni and Joy will be back for more.
