Meet Alli Koch. Alli is has been a part of Paragon Training since moving to San Antonio in 2015 and joining the UTSA Tri Club. She's also the one that usually writes our blogs and athlete spotlights!
Age: 25
Grade: 20th - But who's counting?
How long have you been doing triathlons? I started competing in triathlon when I turned 13 - the youngest allowed age for local races at the time. My dad had a mid-life crisis at 40 and decided to challenge himself with a sprint tri, so we learned how to swim together. Watching him race was my motivation for doing triathlon the following year.
Why do you like triathlons? I'm competitive. Triathlon was also the first thing I was better at than my older brother. I still enjoy the suffering part, the structure, and the fulfillment that training gives to life.
Favorite post-workout or race meal: After big races, I like to eat all the desserts that I didn't have while training.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I'm on the track to be an anthropology professor, but who knows.
Tell us something no one knows about you: I have fake front teeth. I busted them out in a bike crash when I was 18. Don't draft in aero bars!
Make sure to send your pictures from training and racing to: racing@paragontraining.org so we can showcase all the rad stuff you guys do.
