IRONMAN Triathlon Racing
Age: 23

Occupation: Industrial Engineer

How long have you been swimming, cycling, running, and/or doing triathlons?

I started triathlon in 2020, I trained for a half ironman and after hobbling through the finish line I decided it wasn't for me. While finishing my last year of college, I discovered a passion for trail running and decided to move to Utah to get the big mountain experience. After spending a year and a half soaking up the mountain lifestyle, I got a job offer that brought me to San Antonio. I needed something to keep me in shape until I was back in the mountains so I figured I might as well give triathlon another go.

What aspects of training and/or racing do you enjoy most?

Running still takes the crown for my favorite discipline. Although, biking has become a very close second.

What has been your favorite training or racing event, and why?

I haven't done many races yet but I would have to say Captex in Austin. My twin brother attended The University of Texas, so I have many good memories in Austin. Being able to race right in the heart of downtown was a good one to add.

What is your favorite post-workout or race meal?

I'm not a big eater after a race. However, that night you'd probably find me out with my friends throwing down lone stars.... gotta have balance right? :)

What is one recent accomplishment you are proud of?

I took Arkansas to the national champions in NCAA 25 (A Video Game). Hoping it'll happen soon in real life.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Athletically, I'd like to race the Leadville 100 before I turn 30. Personally, I guess I'm still figuring that out! I'm excited to be a dad one day and hope to still be exploring the outdoors and maybe even start my own company.

What is something no one knows about you?

The night I graduated from the University of Arkansas I hit our bar street in a cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and a roka triathlon suit. Gotta love college.

Why do you race/train?

Since I started dabbling in endurance sports in 2020, I've watched many of my friends and family embrace racing and adopt healthier lifestyles for the first time. Knowing that I can inspire others is what motivates me to keep training and seek out challenging races.
