IRONMAN Triathlon Racing
Age: 42

Occupation: General Sales Manager

How long have you been swimming, cycling, running, and/or doing triathlons?

Grew up swimming always on swim teams as a kid, played a multitude of sports in high school including football, baseball & track and started cycling for a few years after college. After, getting married and having 2 kids I needed a new way to get back in shape! It started with the push of a new Peloton during the pandemic and my competitive nature came back alive! I dusted off the old bike, ran a few miles and then I decided to put them all together in August of 2021 doing my first triathlon. I've been hooked ever since!!

What aspects of training and/or racing do you enjoy most?

I love the payoff on race day of trusting the process and being consistent day in and day out with training. It's the early mornings and late nights that no one sees, the behind the scenes work that allows you to show up on race day ready to give it your all!

What has been your favorite training or racing event, and why?

I like to race the Olympic distance. It requires athletes to have greater endurance and stamina to complete the race but also have fast legs and efficient transitions to be competitive.

What is your favorite post-workout or race meal?

As any triathlete should I love all things Carbs! Carbs are King as Mark would say have to fuel the work!

What is one recent accomplishment you are proud of?

First and foremost, my family and amazing wife that support me and all the crazy ideas I come up with!! Race wise winning the Age Group (40-49) which is always super competitive and taking 4th overall at the Pflugerville Olympic Triathlon.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A run-fluencer! Jk, just want to continue to get one percent better every day in life!

What is something no one knows about you?

Most people don't know my real name is Bernard since I've gone by my nickname Trey all my life!

Why do you race/train?

I love the benefits of an active lifestyle, but I also want to show people they are far more capable of accomplishing things if they are willing to push themselves out of their comfort zone!
