Meet our October Athlete Spotlight, Agustín Salvat! Spend a few minutes with Gus and you'll quickly learn he always has a good story to share. Gus has been all over the world, from experiences with SCUBAnauts to working in Qatar for a year. Triathlon is one more facet, and Gus enjoys the sport with his wife, Beatriz, and two supportive kids, Agustín Jr. and Rodrigo. The Salvat family brings the camaraderie to Paragon Training, and we are blessed to have them as part of our community!

How long have you been swimming, cycling, running, and/or doing triathlons?
I had a brief swimming history in highschool for 2 years. I jogged for most of my life, but never more than 2-3 miles. I started participating in half marathons in 2013 and in triathlons since I started with the Paragon tribe around 2015.
What aspects of triathlon do you enjoy most? I think it is the training with friends and the camaraderie of the community.
What has been your favorite training or racing event, and why?
By far the Kona swim, as it was a great piece of conversation (did I ever tell you when I almost died?)
What is your favorite post-workout or race meal?
Pizza and sangria! What is one recent accomplishment you are proud of?
I am struggling with my achilles but little by little I am getting to a reasonable base. I am planning to be more active next year with at least two race events. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to travel and share with my friends good times.
What is something no one knows about you?
I collect fountain pens, smoking pipes and like playing darts!
